THEME
“Porta Itineris longissima dicitur esse“
The Exhibition’s theme is based on the Latin proverb:
“The passage through the door is the longest part of a Journey”.
“Crossing a gate is the longest step in/of life Journey”
PARTICIPATION
Participation in BIAS is at artists’ own expenses; including production and transportation costs. BIAS will cover all insurance costs. BIAS will support artists with all needed documents to apply for funding. (for production and transport expenses).
Applicants not notified within three weeks from the application deadline may assume their applications as unsuccessful. Accepted applicants will be contacted officially by email.
All selected artworks will be included in the BIAS official catalog and its communication material.
To participate in the BIAS, you must fill the online application and submit all required material, using the attached below form. An entry confirmation will be sent via e-mail as soon as all required documentation has been received. Participation in BIAS is open for all artists from all nationalities and of any age.
BIAS is open for any form of visual arts, architecture, design, electronic and new media arts, music, performance, as well as photography and time-based media.
BIAS will open to the public in April 2018 in Museo Riso in Palermo, opening progressively in all locations included week after week, and shall stay open until at least end of June 2018.
DEADLINES
Online Submissions begin: September 11, 2017
Online Submission deadline: November 30, 2017 (23:59 CET).
GENERAL
An artist can exhibit up to 3 artworks, which can be from one or three of the above different categories.
Notification of acceptance: December 22, 2017.
Your material will be used for the catalog, DVD (CD) and the BIAS website (see Rights).

To add documentation (extra files and pictures) to your submission use .pdf format and upload on site following the link below (up to 10Mb size) OR send to submission@bias.institute using wetransfer.com in a single .zip file.
The file name should be formatted (with YOUR NAME AS IN THE FORM) as follows:

All formats THAT ARE NOT .PDF OR .ZIP will be ignored and cause your submission to be invalid.
